Interaction between Indigenous Commission and Kaligandaki Rural Municipality on making Lasargha Besi a Model Cultural Village

The Townhall was conducted in Lasargha Besi, Syangja in the Ward Office Conference Hall with the joint initiative of Niti and Member from Indigenous Nationalities Commission (INC), Dr Min Shrish Magar. The townhall focused on establishing Lasargha, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality- a community rich in indigenous history of the Magar community as a Model Cultural Village and establishing an open-air museum which will enable economic upliftment of the local indigenous population. The townhall saw participants from the rural municipality Chairperson and Deputy-chairperson, Ward Chairpersons and indigenous rights activists who committed to implementing the Procedure developed by INC for the Model Cultural Village. All participants agreed on benefits of the initiative such as preservation of indigenous knowledge and  most importantly improve the standard of life of indigenous residents in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality.
