The Government of Nepal has created certain laws and policies to ensure that shares of hydropower projects are available for purchase by members of affected communities, enabling local people to benefit economically from the projects. However, there is often a dearth of information about the opportunities as well as risks of such investments. This publication aims to raise general awareness about the shares system by answering questions that are frequently asked by affected people.
