Cynara Manandhar is a collaborative policy professional dedication to advancing social equity by integrating evidence-based research and coalition building. She is committed to bring diverse voices – especially those of marginalised, vulnerable, minorities, disadvantaged, underrepresented and poor – together for sustainable, equitable and inclusive governance policy creation and implementation.
Trained as a development practitioner, Ms. Manandhar supports Niti Foundation’s work on democracy, constitutionalism, and urban governance. security sector reform. She has extensive expertise in research, monitoring and evaluation, program coordination, policy analysis and learning, focusing on governance, economic empowerment, gender equality, social inclusion, disaster resilience, climate change, poverty alleviation, and economic & community development. She has been contributing to collaboration process with select constitutional bodies, the national and local governments, national assemblies, and civil society groups to promote government accountability aiming to strengthen Nepal’s democratic consolidation. Ms. Manandhar has been providing program and policy level support to experts in order to promote strengthen the public safety and security situation through developing laws, regulations and strategies based on the principles of federalism.
She holds a Master of Art in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Wittenberg University.
